Bailey’s Day tees up in support of Monash Children’s Cancer Centre

The Monash Health Foundation is proud to share that the 2026 Bailey’s Day has raised over $300,000 to make a significant difference in the lives of children and their families facing cancer.
Over the last twenty-two years, Patrick Tessier OAM has been hosting the annual fundraising golf day in support of the Monash Children’s Cancer Centre. Bailey’s Day is named in honour of Bailey, Patrick’s son, who sadly passed away from an aggressive brain tumour in 2004 at just two and a half years old.

‘It is remarkable how families facing the toughest challenges with their children, turn it around and support, advocate, fundraise and make a difference to future children who come through the Cancer Centre,’ said John De Rango, Director of Monash Health Foundation.

Over the last two decades, Patrick and his family have helped us grow into a world-leading paediatric cancer centre, raising over $5.2 million and funding the training of twenty-two paediatric oncologists to deliver expert care.

‘Philanthropic support allows us to think big, working with people who are passionate about the same things we’re passionate about,’ said Dr Michelle Martin, Head of Paediatric Oncology at Monash Children’s Hospital.

‘It is specifically thanks to Bailey’s Day that we are able to be an accredited site for training and really offer a full, comprehensive service delivery to patients that live in our area.’

A heartfelt thank you to Patrick, the Bailey’s Day team, and everyone who has contributed to Bailey’s legacy. Your generosity has created lasting hope and brighter futures for countless children and families.
